This examination scheme is divided into five distinct phases, detailed as follows:

First Phase
Application Screening
Applications submitted by candidates meeting the required qualifications will be screened and accepted as per the guidelines.Initial Medical Check-up
The medical check-up will follow the provisions outlined in Schedle 6 of the General Directives, 2069, used for recruitment and promotion in the police service.
Second Phase

Physical endurance will be assessed through the following events:

General Ability and Reasoning Test (GART)

- Geography of Nepal: Location, climate, mountain ranges, rivers, lakes, and forests.
- World Geography: Continents and oceans.
- History, culture, and social conditions of Nepal:
- Ancient and medieval political, economic, and social-cultural conditions.
- Modern history: From King Prithvi Narayan Shah to the present political, economic, and social-cultural context.
- Historical wars and treaties involving Nepal.
- Major religions, traditions, languages, literature, and art in Nepal.
- Development in Nepal: Agriculture, industry, tourism, education, and health infrastructure.
- Environmental conservation, climate change, population, urbanization, settlement, pollution, and wildlife conservation.
- The influence of technology: Computers, mobile phones, email, internet, social media, drones, robots, etc.
- Nepal's role in the United Nations and contributions to peace missions.
- Knowledge of international organizations: SAARC, BIMSTEC, NATO, INTERPOL.
- Contemporary events in politics, society, culture, economics, sports, arts, and literature.
- Understanding of Nepal's Constitution (Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and Schedules).
- Basic understanding of genes and genetics.
- Current affairs in policing and the organization of Nepal Police: Rank structure, symbols, insignia, and responsibilities.
Section B: Reasoning Test
- Verbal Reasoning:
Series, analogy, classification, coding-decoding, matrix, ranking/order tests, direction and distance sense, logical reasoning, assertion and reason, statement and conclusions, situational judgment. - Numerical Reasoning:
Series, analogy, classification, coding-decoding, matrix, common properties, data interpretation and verification, calendar-related problems. - Arithmetical Test:
Operations involving percentages, ratios, fractions, decimals, averages, profit and loss, time and work. - Non-Verbal Reasoning:
Figure series, figure analogy, figure classification, matrix, pattern completion, figure formation and analysis, rule detection, dot situations, water and mirror images, Venn diagrams, construction of triangles and squares.
Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
Full Marks: 100 | Pass Marks: 40Section A: English Language
- Comprehension: 5 questions based on a given passage.
- Vocabulary: Questions assessing word usage, synonyms, antonyms, derivatives, prefix/suffix usage.
- Translation: A short text to be translated from Nepali to English or vice versa.
- Conversation or Summarization: Completing a conversation or summarizing a given passage.
- Essay Writing: A brief, organized essay on a general topic, not exceeding 200 words.
- Short Report (Letter form): Writing a report in a letter format, addressed to a commanding officer.
- Structure Testing: Questions assessing grammar, including parts of speech, tense, clauses, sentence formation, transformations, prepositions, conjunctions, and articles.
Section B: Nepali Language
- Nepali Writing: Essays, reports, letters, and commentary on contemporary topics.
- Nepali Grammar: Questions on affixes, sentence synthesis, compounds, voice changes, and word classification.
- Miscellaneous: Sentence formation, interpretation of idioms, summarization, and elaboration of passages.
